Founded in 1949 by Mr. J.C. Potter, Potter’s sausage has “packed the flavor” for generations of Oklahomans. Known for his unyielding commitment to product quality and store door delivery system, Mr. Potter built the leading brand of breakfast sausage in Oklahoma, that Atlantic Premium Brands is proud to have as the newest member of our family of brands!

After World War II, Mr. J.C. Potter returned to civilian life. Moving his wife, Alta, their two teenage daughters, and twelve year old son, their family settled in Mrs. Potter’s hometown, Durant, Oklahoma. Once again J.C. was doing custom slaughtering and working as a butcher at a local grocery store. Potter realized there was not a good sausage for the homemaker to take home o her family.
He remembered the sausage that his Arkansas family had make each year at “hog killing time.” With his family’s help, he began grinding hogs in a #3 wash tub and mixing in seasonings, developing today’s J.C. Potter country Sausage.
Today the J.C. Potter Sausage Company is proud to be a part of Atlantic Premium Brands. Through the efforts of our dedicated employees we continue to carry on the wonderful traditions of good, old-fashioned Oklahoma sausage.
